SPRING 2013 BEAUTY TRENDS
Just like we change our wardrobe from season to season, it’s also important to make sure you are on trend with your make-up and beauty routine. Here are some of the new looks we will see for spring.
BOLD EYE PALETTES
It’s all about a bold eye this spring, lots of smoky eye looks with colors like gray, blue, purple and green. Deeper shades add richness to your eye color and will look great paired with the season’s super popular nude lip.
COLORED MASCARA
Black mascara is always the go to color when it comes to long, luscious lashes. This spring we are seeing lots of colored mascara. These are not bold and bright colors but richer shades of plum, burgundy and blue. It’s very subtle and really works to enhance your eye color. For example, if you have brown eyes then choose purple or blue. Green eyes look great with blue and burgundy. If you have blue eyes, go for plum and bronze shades.
COLORED EYE LINER
Adding even more boldness to the eyes are colored eyeliners. Now, if you choose to wear colored mascara, I would stick to brown or black eyeliner. But if you like black mascara, have some fun with your eyeliner. There are so many great shades to choose from including purple, deep blue and teal.
NUDE LIPS
With a bold eye, you will want to go more neutral on the lips. Nude lips are a big trend once again for spring and there are lots of nude colors to choose from. Just be sure to pick a shade that is slighter darker than your natural lip color. You don’t want to look too washed out. I am a big fan of beauty line, Napolean Perdis, which has a great collection of different nude shades.
NAILS
Gel nail manicures are all the rage but they can be costly. Deborah Lippmann has recently launched a new product called “Gel Lab” that you can use with any of your favorite nail polish colors. It comes with a base coat and a top coat for $45. You get all the benefits (no chipping, long lasting color) of a gel manicure but you get to use your own favorite nail polish colors.
