The Wanted have offered some words of advice to Taylor Swift following the news of her split from Harry Styles, telling the country starlet to remain single for a while after enjoying a string of relationships.

The 'Glad You Came' hitmakers have seized the opportunity to pot shots at their rivals One Direction, weighing in on Harry's recent split from Taylor after just 65 days of romancing.

Speaking at the People's Choice Awards, Jay McGuiness says Taylor should hold off on finding another young, hot male after dating several men in 2012.

"I think she should stay single for a bit," Jay told E! News on the red carpet.

Nathan Sykes joked that Taylor, who famously uses her failed relationships as material for her songs, should use her break-up with Harry as inspiration for her next record.

"[She should] write a whole album about [being single]," Nathan quipped.

Meanwhile, hottie Max George revealed he has a secret crush on Taylor but his height may be an obstacle.

"She's a very attractive girl," Max admitted, adding: "I'm just a bit short [for her]."
