A little over 2 years ago, I became a homeowner. This very adult commitment, I knew would come with its frustrations and challenges. I don’t typically like to source things out when it comes to home stuff because I am a man and a man does all his own stuff. So even though everyone in our neighborhood uses the same lawn service, I went out and bought all my own stuff—mower, edger, rakes, everything. Yeah, maybe it would have been easier and cheaper to just use the guys that everyone else uses, but my post-lawn work celebratory beer is the best tasting beer I’ll have all week.
Lawn triumphs aside, inside the house is a continuous project as well. A year after moving in, we finally decided to paint the dark wood paneling in our living room. Painting that wood paneling was ridiculously difficult and, of course, I told my wife that we should do it ourselves. We had to use oil-based primer and oh, man the fumes. I was certain we’d pass out and our bodies would be discovered a few days later.
Fast forward a year and half to the present day and again I wanted to do a big home project. This time, I wanted to mount all the TVs in our house because, you know, TVs on stands are so passé. What’s the point of having flat screen TVs if they’re just going to lie around taking up the same exact space as non-flat screens?
Apparently, going around and knocking on the walls with my ear pressed up against them didn’t look like the best method of finding studs in the wall and when my wife saw that my last Google search was “how to avoid wire fires when mounting TV” she drew the line. I would have to finally hire someone else or the TVs stayed on stands.
Enter Eco High Fidelity. In a couple of hours, they had mounted all the TVs in our house. I knew mounting them would make a difference, but I was really blown away. Also, I have to admit, there’s no way I could have done this stuff on my own. They even managed to put the TV in our home office in a corner to free up more space and for optimal viewing with the way the room is set up.
Here are some Before & After photos of a couple of the rooms because that’s what all the other hip home improvement bloggers are doing.
Check out Eco High Fidelity here. They do a great job! I can't wait till i have a big house and they can install something like this.
