I recently became aware that people have been using the Liam Neeson's Taken speech for every day occurrences. I thought I was the only one! It's good to know that there is a community of us out there. I will be sure to mention this the next time I get an eye roll from the wife when I use the Taken speech. I encourage you to also use the Taken speech as much as possible. Here are some great examples of using the Taken speech.
Here is how I plan to use the Taken speech next (it's directed to the people that do my neighbors' lawn):
I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want (besides my business). If you are looking for another lawn to blow leaves onto, I can tell you I don't have a lawn service. But what I do have is a very particular set of raking skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career of raking leaves from my parents' yard. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you stop blowing my neighbors' leave into my yard now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not rake the leaves back into their yards. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will put those leaves back.
I kind of also wished I had used it for our Christmas cards this year (typed up, of course):
I don't know who you are (because my wife writes all the Christmas cards). I don't know what you want besides a Christmas card. If you are looking for a Hanukkah card, I can tell you I'm not Jewish. But what I do have is a very particular set of bad penmanship skills; bad penmanship skills I have acquired over a very long career of avoiding doing things I don't want to do like writing Christmas cards and even Thank You cards. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like my wife or anyone that requires me to fill out forms or read anything I have handwritten. If you accept that I have no part in all of the cards and correspondence that come from my family, that'll be the end of it. I will not write to you, I will expect you to write to me. But if you don't, I will write to you, I will send letters to you, and you will not be able to read what I have written.
