2013 HOTTEST FALL FASHION TRENDS
Every year, Neiman Marcus reveals its list of the hottest trends for the season. This fall, it’s all about incorporating a neutral shade of red into your wardrobe, some animal print, getting edgy with rocker chic looks and black lace and the shoe for the season which is pointed.
WOMEN FALL FASHION TRENDS
RED, THE NEW NEUTRAL
Wearing red always makes a statement, but don’t just think of the classic shade in that way. Red is becoming more of a neutral shade, similar to black, white and navy. Pop the color with other looks in your wardrobe and see how well it can be mixed and matched into your outfits. Red looks amazing with so many other colors—cream, black, white, navy, gray, khaki, animal print, yellow, green, the list is endless. And don’t forget the red lip—always a beauty must for fall.
For most of us, animal print has become a wardrobe staple. There are so many different variations—leopard print, zebra, spotted prints. Look for it in fashion, accessories, handbags, shoes, etc to make a statement this season. Just refrain from mixing prints and patterns. If you’re wearing an animal print top, don’t wear animal print shoes.
THE POINTED TOE
Rounded toe, open toe or pointed toe? So many choices! This season, it’s all about a pointed toe from flats to pumps to boots. It’s a good thing, considering that a pointed toe elongates the leg making us look even taller. We love that!
If you really want to heat up your fashion wardrobe, add a piece of lace noir. From dresses and cardigans to skirts, shoes, boots, handbags and shoes, you will see black lace everywhere. It’s a great feminine look with an edge. One of my favorite fall looks is mixing black lace with black leather.
For the ultimate cool vide, rocker chic is just your style. Studs, metal chain details, exposed zippers, motorcycle jackets and boots, rocker chic continues this season as one of the most important trends. Pairing tall boots with a lace or leather dress is totally in style for fall. Throw on a studded cross body bag and the look is complete.
MEN FALL FASHION TRENDS:
Guys can keep warm this winter in a great layering cardigan. No, this is not Mr. Roger’s cardigan! You will see thinner and thicker styles. A thicker one can be worn as outerwear. A cardigan is great to wear in place of a sport coat. You can button it up with a shirt and tie as a great work option.
When it comes to denim this season, it’s all about black! With the popularity of jewel tones in fashion, designers are pairing everything with black denim. On the runways, we saw it with ruby red, sapphire blue, deep emerald and topaz. Get your guy some black denim this Fall.
